Sparkasse Weißenfels

Baroque shell, modern core

The main branch of the Sparkasse Burgenlandkreis is located in a listed baroque town house directly on the historic market square in Weißenfels. In the 1990s, the building was expanded with a modern extension along Marktgasse and Große Kalandstraße to create more space for offices and event rooms. But the most recent renovation marks a new milestone: the aim was to create a forward-looking, customer-friendly environment and to bring the building up to date in terms of energy.

Uniform room concept and natural materials

The design concept connects the historic and modern parts of the building with clear, natural materials and colors. A consistent element is the geometric "frame" made of oak, which can be found throughout the interior - from the reception desk to the consulting offices - and creates a warm, timeless atmosphere. The modern, open ceiling design gives the room a feeling of spaciousness and is equipped with a visible installation level.
Light installation and acoustics as design elements

Two three-dimensional light sculptures - "illuminated lianas" - run through the entire room ensemble as an impressive element and give the customer area a lively dynamic. Exposed areas are accentuated by ring lights, while circular acoustic elements ensure a pleasant background noise and a harmonious overall impression.

Rear service area and flexible consultation rooms

In the service area there is a spacious conference table that can be used for events and meetings outside of opening hours. The consultation rooms are arranged in free-standing, acoustically optimized room solutions that ensure both the necessary discretion and an optimal room layout. Goldbach Kirchner used system partition walls of the T10 and T35 models as well as the "GK Space" room-in-room system, among other things.
Flexible back office and modern workplace design

The modern back office can be reached via an open-plan kitchenette and a cloakroom - an open-plan office with flexible workstations and telephone boxes that offers an ideal balance between teamwork and opportunities for retreat. Here, too, warm gray tones, wooden elements and the contrasting choice of materials ensure a pleasant working atmosphere.

Detailed design and local roots

The wall surfaces, which are covered with exclusively designed wallpapers with regional motifs, offer a special homage to the region. Designed by graphic designer Luise Worms, these wallpapers give each room its own character and create a stylish connection to the surroundings. The Sparkasse logo, which was recreated in preserved moss, and a floor-to-ceiling wall design set striking color accents.
All-round support from general planner

The general planner eww - ARCHITEKTEN & INGENIEURE (Halle/Saale) supervised the project in all phases - from preliminary planning and construction monitoring to the coordination of statics, energy concept, fire protection, room acoustics and building services.

The conversion of the savings bank branch in Weißenfels combines historical substance with the latest technology and an aesthetic room concept that creates an inspiring environment for both customers and employees. From the room acoustics to the flexible work design and the striking lighting design, a unique symbiosis of functionality and design has been created here - a project that serves as a model for the modern bank branch.
