Building project report

Dorette House, Kurfürstendamm, Berlin

Complete gutting of a commercial building

Interior fit-out of a floor of an office and commercial building on Ku’damm with two subareas, using a uniform, minimalist architectural language

The interior design is based on transparency and a flowing spatial structure. Individually designed fitted furniture and free-standing furniture ensure an optimal use of space. Ceiling heights used to the maximum, concealed installations and the use of natural and warm materials create a quiet and clean spatial and working atmosphere with its own identity and the utmost functionality.

The intricate glass partition wall system enables the various working areas to be divided without losing a generous feeling of space.

The single-glazed partition wall system used here, with no vertical uprights, is combined with slim-line all-glass door systems. Depending on the use of space, revolving doors or two-leaf sliding doors are chosen. With its minimalist focus and choice of a few, select materials, the development project creates a well-lit working environment while ensuring the impression on visitors is appropriate.

Dating from the 1950s, the Dorette House building was originally built for garment production, and then used as an office and administrative building. The development is intended to reflect the contemporary spirit of two different lines of business and also create space for practical everyday working.
