A historic event: the world’s first joint German and French Embassy in Bangladesh with furniture from Goldbach Kirchner

Our current highlight is the interior fit-out for the new embassy building in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This will be the site of the world’s first embassy run jointly by Germany and France. With standard furniture from Goldbach Kirchner raumconcepte, manufactured in Dessau.

Key Account and Sales executive Gerold Schwär landed the order for the Goldbach Kirchner raumconcepte facility in Dessau. Goldbach Kirchner was successful in a bidding procedure against six competitors. Award negotiations were held at the Foreign Office in Paris. The architect for the construction project is the French architect Stephane Paumier, who is based in New Delhi.

Requirements/challenges: shipping of ten container loads from Bremerhaven – journey time 6 weeks. All furniture had to be protected against salt and sea air. Customs also problematic.

Assembly is on-site with three of the company’s fitters, plus local workers, and lasts around two weeks.

The order is extensive, ranging from desks, cupboards, filing cabinets, all chairs, sofas, lounge furniture and desk lamps to projector screens, magnetic boards, bins and monitors.
