Goldbach Kirchner Dessau recognised as an ‘Employer for the Future’

The regional Family-Friendly Business employer initiative is the organiser of the ‘Employer for the Future’ prize. Headquartered in Geiselbach, German firm Goldbach Kirchner has now received this award in 2018 for its Dessau site.

Goldbach Kirchner offers staff a flexible working hours account plus team-building activities for a positive working environment. The company also has an active healthcare management programme. Workspace design follows ergonomic principles and the company doctor provides employees with helpful guidance and advice.

What is the background to the Family-Friendly Business employer initiative?

In 2014, nine companies and organisations in the German city of Dessau-Roßlau came together to form the Dessau-Roßlau Family-Friendly Business initiative. Today, the city of Dessau-Roßlau itself and the Halle-Dessau Chamber of Industry and Commerce are now also members of the initiative.

The initiative was established as a response to the growing challenges experienced in finding suitably-qualified personnel as a result of demographic change. Young professionals in particular are now increasingly looking to give equal weight to the needs of starting a family and starting a career when choosing an employer.

The initiative is also aiming to recruit more employers to its cause and to give them the opportunity to share their experiences in this area. Not least because the establishment of a family-friendly HR policy lets employers not increase their attractiveness for skilled job seekers while offering existing staff improved conditions for performing their daily duties. In the end, everyone benefits.

Goldbach Kirchner raumconcepte GmbH is an innovative, family-owned business that is strongly committed to the sustainable design of working and living spaces. The company produces its space-creating partition wall systems and components for high-quality interior fit-out at its main production facility in Geiselbach, Lower Franconia. At the company’s Dessau factory in Saxony-Anhalt, a new production line conforming to the Industrial Internet of Things (‘Industry 4.0’) model has been set up as one of the most advanced production facilities for making furniture parts. The facility produces custom and standard furniture for banks and hotel fit-outs, serviced apartments, student halls of residence und nursing homes/healthcare.
